Library Programs

McKinley Memorial Library offers a variety of programs that are FREE for children ages birth-11 years of age throughout the year. We offer several literacy programs for specific age groups and for families with kids of all ages, as well as recurring monthly programs during the Fall, Winter and Spring months. We also offer exciting Summer Reading Programs that keep kids engaged and excited about reading over the summer months.

*Children ages birth to 11 years must have a responsible person over the age of 18 present with them at all times during library programs and events.

 


 STORYTIME PROGRAMS

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The library provides a series of Storytime sections for babies, toddlers & preschoolers by age group during the Fall, Winter and Spring months. Each series generally runs from 6 to 10 weeks in length, and regular attendance is strongly encouraged. Registration is required for the three storytime programs listed below. Bee Boppin' Baby Time  (ages birth to 24 months;  meets every other Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m.; click on the link for a schedule and to register.)

Reader-Totters Toddler Storytime (ages 2 & 3 years; meets every Monday morning at 10:00 a.m.; click on the link for a schedule and to register.)

 

Pozy's Pals Preschool Storytime (ages 4 & 5 years; meets every Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m.; click on the link for a schedule and to register.)

 

 


 

The Storytime Program listed below is a drop-in program and DOES NOT require pre-registration. It will meet in the children's room at the library:

Pages in Pajamas Storytime

Children ages 2—8 years are invited to put on their jammies and drop-in to the children’s room in the library every third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. beginning in March 2016 to hear a story and make a craft. Drop-in on March 16th, April 20th, & May 18th.

 

 


 

MONDAY MANIA @ THE LIBRARY

We’ve taken back Mondays and turned them into a day to look forward to! Kids of all ages can drop into the children’s room in the library every Monday after school between 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. beginning in March 2016 to participate in the fun! RECURRING PROGRAMS

The library offers some programs that meet once per month during the fall, winter and spring months. Registration is required for each monthly session of the following programs. To register for program sessions, please click on the title of the programs below, or call the children’s room at (330) 652-1704 x 214.

Music & Movement

 Children ages 2—6 years old & their caregiver(s) can join library staff for 30 minutes of music & moving one Friday morning each month at 10:00 a.m.

 

 Lego Club

Children ages 6 and up are invited to join library staff one Saturday morning  at 11:00 a.m. each month to build something together out of Legos. Registration is required for each monthly session.

 

Kids Book Club

Children ages 7—11 years old & their caregiver(s) can join one Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. each month to talk about books and participate in related activities and crafts.

 


 SATURDAY SPECIALS @ THE LIBRARY

 The library offers a variety of fun programs for children to enjoy on some Saturday mornings at 11:00 a.m. throughout the fall, winter and spring months.  SUMMER READING PROGRAMS

 

 

The Library offers summer reading programs for kids 18 months to 18 years of age.  With exciting themes, reading incentive programs, special storytimes and weekly activities, the summer reading program is packed with fun! Check back in May for more information about the 2016 summer reading program.
