A McKinley Christmas

12:30 – 4:30 p.m.

The McKinley Memorial Library and The McKinley Birthplace Home & Research Center in conjunction with the National Birthplace Memorial & Museum and the Niles Historical Society will be presenting “A McKinley Christmas” to be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 12:30-4:30 p.m.

Historical reenactors portraying the McKinley Family will greet visitors and talk about their 1850’s Christmas at The McKinley Birthplace Home & Research Center. The Home will be adorned with traditional decorations and refreshments reminiscent of the 1850’s time period will be served. A String Trio from the Dana School of Music will be playing traditional Christmas music from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

At the Library, crafts for the children to make will be available in the Children’s Room from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. 

President William McKinley, portrayed by Mike Wilson, will greet visitors at the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial & Museum. Musical Entertainment is be provided, featuring the members of the band from the sold-out TNT show "Honky Tonk Angels," and Santa will make a guest appearance 12:30 p.m.

The Ward-Thomas House, home of the Niles Historical Society will be participating in this holiday event. A Victorian Christmas will be highlighted.

A trolley will be shuttling visitors to all destinations.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided by the Salvation Army Canteen at the McKinley Memorial Library parking lot.

The Library parking lot will not be open and Library members are asked to park at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home across the street from the Library.

Visitors attending the events are asked to park either at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home parking lot, or at the First Christian Church lot.

 All events are free and open to the public.
