Youth Advisory Committee

What’s All that YAC’n About?!YAC

What is YAC?

YAC stands for Youth Advisory Committee. The McKinley Memorial YAC is a group of teens who meet monthly to discuss books, movies, music, gaming, pop-culture, technology, and community, and find ways to bring those things into the library. Basically, we work to make the library a fun and enjoyable place for the teens of Niles.

Why should I join YAC?

    • Because it’s fun!
    • Because you can meet and hang out with friends!
    • Because in order to volunteer at the library, you must join YAC and attend the monthly meetings!!!!!!!

What will we do in YAC?

    • Provide input for programs and materials you would like to see at the library.
    • Coordinate Volunteer Opportunities for teens.
    • Write posts/reviews for the MML Teen Media Madness Blog. Check out the blog at http://mckinleymediamadnessclub.blogspot.com/
    • Create and participate in service projects.
    • Create hype for the library

Who can join?

Any teen between the ages of 12-18 in the state of Ohio can join! So, bring your friends!

When will we meet?

We will hold meetings once a month on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. during the months of September through May in the McKinley Auditorium. Check the Teen Calendar for the date of the next YAC meeting.
